User Story​

As a client manager
I want to perform bulk operations on clients, use advanced search and filtering capabilities, and access enhanced dashboard statistics with reporting
So that I can efficiently manage large client portfolios, analyze client data patterns, and perform administrative tasks at scale while maintaining data integrity and performance

Context & Integration​

Current System Integration Points:

  • Extends existing ClientService (/Users/ayoub/projects/emtb/apps/api/src/client/client.service.ts)
  • Leverages existing findAll(), findOne(), and getClientStats() methods
  • Integrates with existing Client Prisma model and all relationships (Contact, Site, ApporteurAffaire, FacturePartenaire, User)
  • Connects with Document Management System (Story 1) and Enhanced Status Workflow (Story 2)
  • Maintains compatibility with existing reference generation and status management

Existing Functionality to Preserve:

  • All CRUD operations (GET /clients, POST /clients, PATCH /clients/:id, DELETE /clients/:id)
  • Current client listing API (GET /clients) with existing include relationships
  • Reference generation (generateReference() method) and lookup (GET /clients/reference/:reference)
  • Client statistics endpoint (GET /clients/stats) with status grouping
  • Status update functionality (PATCH /clients/:id/status)
  • Existing search patterns and relationship loading performance
  • Current Swagger documentation structure and response formats

Acceptance Criteria​

AC1: Bulk Client Import Operations​

Given I need to import multiple clients from external data sources
When I perform bulk import operations
Then the system should:

  • Accept CSV, Excel, and JSON formats for bulk client import
  • Validate all client data according to existing ClientService creation rules
  • Generate unique references using existing generateReference() method for each client
  • Support batch processing with configurable batch sizes (default 100 clients per batch)
  • Provide detailed import results with success/failure counts and error details
  • Handle duplicate detection based on name/address combinations
  • Create audit trail for all bulk import operations with user tracking
  • Maintain transaction integrity - rollback entire batch on critical failures
  • Support dry-run mode for import validation without data persistence
  • Integrate with document requirements from Story 1 for imported clients

AC2: Bulk Client Export & Data Extraction​

Given I need to export client data for analysis or migration
When I perform bulk export operations
Then the system should:

  • Export clients in CSV, Excel, and JSON formats with customizable field selection
  • Include related data (contact, sites, apporteurs, documents) based on user selection
  • Support filtered exports based on advanced search criteria
  • Generate exports asynchronously for large datasets with progress tracking
  • Provide secure download links with expiration and access logging
  • Include export metadata (generation time, user, filters applied, record count)
  • Support scheduled exports with email delivery for regular reporting
  • Maintain existing client data privacy and security controls

AC3: Bulk Status Update Operations​

Given I need to update status for multiple clients simultaneously
When I perform bulk status operations
Then the system should:

  • Support bulk status updates with business rule validation from Story 2
  • Validate each status transition using existing workflow rules
  • Provide batch operation results with individual client success/failure status
  • Create status history entries for each affected client maintaining audit trail
  • Send notifications for bulk status changes according to Story 2 notification rules
